Glen Magna cuts down tree to save mansion
DANVERS - One of the town's oldest residents passed away last week at the age of 187. The cause of death, simply, was a wood duck hole.
The resident, a 98-foot tall white pine tree, had shaded the southern side of the Glen Magna mansion for more than a century. But on Wednesday, tree cutters took their saws to its 3 1/2 foot trunk.
